Senate Vote Recently Passed That Legalizes Sodomy & Bestiality in Military.

Where is the SPCA when you need them? Democrat Senate repeals bans and passes bill to legalize sodomy, bestiality in US military. They can't even pass a budget but they can do this?

When I first heard about this, I thought someone was just being funny - but no, it is actually true. Maybe that old joke about the West had some basis - ...the Old West is where men were men and the cattle are nervous... Guess this cow hasn't heard the news yet. Watch out all you horses and camels! Where is the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and why haven't they filed some petitions? What about the ACLU - don't animals have rights?

CNS News reported: On Nov. 15, the Senate Armed Services Committee had unanimously approved S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act, which includes a provision to repeal Article 125 the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).

Now it turns out that some members of the senate admitted they didn't even know that the bill legalized sodomy and bestiality. Is it too much to ask from our elected officials on both sides of the aisle to read what they are voting on?

Looks like it is time to not only lock up your wives and children, but to guard all of your animals. Puppy love will take on an entirely new meaning.

The Senate - Evidently A Job With No Accountability

How would you like a job where all you do all day is discuss and pass silly laws, avoid any actual work such as passing a budget in a timely matter, and simply look forward to a retirement (where you don't even have to make a pretense of working) at full salary, plus a free dream medical benefits package.

Meanwhile, our fighting men and women are out there in the front line putting their lives on the line for all of us probably never dreaming that there are such incompetents that have been promoted to their level of incompetence. Maybe we need to throw them all out and start over - let them find out what it is like to actually work for a living and to be held accountable for their job performance.

The Senators must have a lot of experience in sex with anaminals in order to approve this or are they like Obama with no experience in governments. They should have at least enough sence to read it before signing but 92 pecent voted for it which proves the are either stupid or they are having sex with animals and Homo's

Repealing 925.125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice doesn’t make bestiality, or sodomy legal, rather it removes it as a court-martial offence in the military. Does the military really need to cover these acts in their code to begin with? As it was written even a heterosexual couple that engaged in sodomy could be court martialed. It’s outdated nonsense for the military to be worrying about, let civilian courts handle these matters.

Sure our Congress has more pressing matters to worry about, but Congress is responsible for all policy; if there is a demand for them to take care of a certain issue it is there’s to take up, notwithstanding any individual’s perception of importance.

I have been saying for years that once the American people have passed the horror of legalized sodomy the next thing would be beastiality! This is why morals cannot be demonized by the left! This is why once God is taken from the people they began to dig deeper into perversion and sick twisted things! Its just like smoking pot.....years later many are sticking needles in their arms! This one act should be a life lesson to many!.........learn self discipline, say no to perversion and those things that can destroy you!..............how does one actually court a horse before sexing him or her up?

@tirelesstraveler - Sounds like a great idea, but how would we know they were telling the truth. Or, maybe before being able to run for a political office have them complete a series of ethics classes and personal accountability classes? It's a problem. Thank you for your comment.

I think we should lobby to have a bill passed that if the senator or representative hasn't read a bill they can't vote on it.

@drbj - As mentioned, when I first heard about it on the radio I thought someone was trying to be funny and then I researched it and found lots of newspaper headlines on this. They couldn't manage to pass a budget, but they can do this! It made me so angry that I just felt I had to vent and make others aware. You are so right about the true travesty. It is a double travesty now that some senators are saying they voted for a bill they hadn't read completely. Talk about being between a rock and a hard place - they either had to pack peddle and admit they voted for something they knew little about or they had to justify voting for it. And, we are paying their salary and rewarding them for total incompetence. I appreciate your comments. Here's a thought - Maybe you can turn this into a nursery rhyme. Again, appreciate your feedback. GClark

When I read your hub headline, G, I thought this must be some sort of travesty you are writing. Now I realize that the true travesty is human and sitting in Congressional seats with their brain cells on hold. We have got to throw them out and begin anew.

@Old Poolman - Great comments - really like the way you think and express yourself and as another person said about you - you have the ability to say an incredible amount in less words than the rest of us to make very strong points on important issues. Thanks for sharing. GClark

@no mac salad - Hi! This made lots of headlines but I first heard it on the radio and thought someone was just trying to be funny. You're right - most of the Senate wasn't thinking and now it turns out many who voted for this hadn't read the entire bill. Appreciate your comment. GClark

Hi GClark, I see your point, what are they thinking about? Well, maybe they're not thinking. This must have been headline news, how did I miss this, thanks for posting... v^,u^,i^.

@Paladin- Thanks for contributing some great info earlier. I stated Democrat Senate because they have the majority and nothing gets passed without that. However, you are correct, that some Republicans crossed over and are looking remarkably stupid since they have had to admit they didn't read the entire bill and were unaware of the bestiality being legalized. Imagine if any of us had a job and overlooked something of that importance, we would be out so fast our heads would still be spinning. By the way, I definitely agree that the Senate members who actually read the full bill and voted against it should be praised for doing their job. Again, I appreciate your comments. GClark

Ooops. The amendment to which I was referring in my previous comment was the FIFTH, not the fourth. My bad.

Great timing and great hub. Now here is the way I see this. Unless the Army has changed a great deal since I got out, this change in laws will change nothing. I suppose that those that are inclined to have sex with an animal were doing so even when I was in the Army. The fact that it was then against the law didn't mean anything just like all the other things that are against the law, but people still do them.

What needs to happen is for us to check the voting records and contact all of those who voted in favor of this stupid bill and ask them some questions. Something like "I see you voted in favor of repealing the law against Sodomy and Bestiality for the Military, could I ask why?" They of course will say they didn't know that was part of the bill they signed, and then we can unload on them. They should be advised that if they EVER sign another bill without reading, understanding the bill, or asking for clarification on the bill, they will soon join the ranks of the unemployed. We just can't tolerate any more of this poor job performance on the part of our elected representatives. They should all be as ashamed of themselves as we are of them. If anyone doesn't know how to look up voting records let us know and I can provide you with some links.

Great hub and thanks for sharing.

GClark, why do you begin your hub by stating that the "Democratic Senate" has repealed the ban? This bill (H.R. 1540) passed in the Senate 93-7, with 46 of the votes coming from Republicans and 47 coming from Democrats. I'd say that's pretty bipartisan.

There are a number of problems with this bill, and the sodomy revision is the least among them. For instance, there is another provision in the bill that essentially destroys the Fourth Amendment, allowing authorities to strip a citizen of his rights simply by accusing him of being a "terrorist" or aiding "terrorists."

The senators who voted against this despicable bill are listed below, and should be applauded:

Tom Coburn (R) Oklahoma

Tom Harkin (D) Iowa

Michael Lee (R) Utah

Jeff Merkley (D) Oregon

Rand Paul (R) Kentucky

Bernie Sanders (I) Vermont

Ron Wyden (D) Oregon

I'm sick of how our representatives of this country making BS headlines and making us change our focus from the true issues that are at hand. I'm betting some PR person threw this out there to throw us off track. They need to seriously sit down and deal with REAL issues. I'm not saying animal cruelty isn't an issue but we seriously have bigger fish to fry. If this is all they can come up with then we need to take our country back. I vote that we start over and get back to our fundamental rights and responsibilities and make people, even politicians, accountable for their actions.

Oh, and I too believe that most cows and camels will sleep safely tonight because it is the PERSON that has these wants and desires. Just because it is put into law doesn't mean that there will be a bunch of rednecks out there rounding up cows (or camels) for the camp orgy tonight. It's the fact that this slipped by our reps and their stupidity. That is the main issue I see here.

@Mibailz - Appreciate your comments. Doubt anyone really thinks their farm animals are in any danger now just because it is legal, but it is the stupidity of their thinking they needed to make it legal. Why can they find the time to pass this and then have people saying they didn't know what was in the bill, etc. and they still can't manage to pass a budget? Where do we get these people. Common sense seems to be in short supply back there. GClark

I highly doubt just because the senate has repealed laws against beastiality soldiers are going to go to the nearest farm and have certain relations with camels and cows. The soldiers that would, probably have. I can assure you there is nothing to worry about. Cows can sleep soundly tonight.

@Leaderofmany - Thanks for your comments - am glad this latest action of the senate struck you as really stupid also. Another example of our tax dollars at work. GClark

@teenboyproblems - It is great to get your feedback and to see that I have struck a nerve and that others view this latest action for what it is truly worth. Maybe we will start demanding accountability and their focus on important issues. Thanks again! GClark

Nice. Yeah, I feel better knowing our government is looking out for the IMPORTANT stuff in our country and thinking about our military's needs. NOT. I think they just threw this curveball to deflect from what they are about to do now. It makes you wonder what they do with their heads all day. Maybe if they pulled them out of their @$$, and paid attention, we wouldn't be so pissed off.

Come one really, our Senate needs to grow up. We have Soliders coming home daily with injuries they will never recover from and they care about sodomy and bestiality. How about getting our Soldiers off the line and getting the Soldiers back home the proper care.
